Eleana is a proud lifelong resident of New Jersey. She volunteers in Jersey City for several community organizations, including the Harsimus Cove Association, where she has served as a Vice President for the past two years, and Friends of Liberty State Park, where she has testified in support of the Liberty State Park Protection Act in Trenton. She is also a progressive and environmental activist with NJ-08 for Progress (where she serves on the steering committee), the Hudson County Progressive Alliance, and the Hudson Climate Coalition.

Professionally, Eleana is an environmental engineer, with a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from UC Berkeley, as well as a professional engineering license. She has worked in stormwater management, green infrastructure, and flood resilience for New York City and elsewhere in New York and New Jersey. She will use this experience to make sure Hudson County makes smart investments in infrastructure to protect our communities from flooding. She will also advocate for strong policies to combat climate change.

Eleana cares deeply about building a just and equitable future for our community, and making sure that our government truly represents the people, not special interests. She is not accepting any donations from developers or corporate PACs, and she commits to holding at least four town halls each year when elected.
